The present analysis of the characteristics of eye diseases in Azerbaidjan (including the absolute number of the patients per 100,000 child population, the prevalence of myopia, blindness, and visual impairment) demonstrates the progressive rise in the prevalence of these conditions in the Republic as a whole and in most of its separate regions. This increase can be attributed in the first place to both the overall tendency toward the growth of eye pathology and to the use of the modern diagnostic tools for the early detection of the eye diseases.
Проведен анализ показателей (абсолютное число, на 100 000 детского населения) заболеваемости глаз, в том числе при близорукости, слепоте и слабовидении, в Азербайджанской Республике за 10-летний период, свидетельствующий о прогрессирующей динамике заболеваемости в целом по республике и большинству ее территорий за анализируемый период, связанный прежде всего как с ростом заболеваемости глаза в целом, так и с использованием современных диагностических технологий в раннем периоде заболевания.
