Experimental and clinical data, showing the important role of peripheral refraction in the regulation of eye growth, are collected in this review. The review proves that optical strategies of myopia correction with possible induction of peripheral myopic defocus are more effective in myopia progression prevention compared to single vision spectacle lenses and contact lenses.</p>
Показано, что оптические стратегии коррекции миопии с возможностью индукции миопического периферического дефокуса оказываются более эффективными в профилактике прогрессирования близорукости по сравнению с монофокальными очками и контактными линзами.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>myopia</kwd><kwd>peripheral refraction</kwd><kwd>defocus</kwd><kwd>orthokeratology</kwd><kwd>multifocal contact lenses</kwd><kwd>multifocal spectacles</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>миопия</kwd><kwd>периферическая рефракция</kwd><kwd>дефокус</kwd><kwd>ортокератология</kwd><kwd>мультифокальные контактные линзы</kwd><kwd>мультифокальные очки</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Atchison D.
