Central Asia, unlike the Asia-Pacific region, is not the main arena for the Sino-American confrontation. However, the geographical determinant - the region is surrounded by China, Russia, Iran and Afghanistan - predetermined the local nature of Washington's policy aimed at realizing American interests in the neighboring states of Central Asia. This paper examines the US policy in Central Asia at the present stage in the economic, humanitarian and security dimensions.
